INTERNSHIPS & VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Join our internship program! Internships at She Loves Tech will give you the opportunity to get experience in a global organization and more insight into the latest trends in the fields of women, tech and entrepreneurship. Interns will have the opportunity to see entrepreneurship, venture capital and technology ecosystems from every angle, attend remote She Loves Tech sessions with top entrepreneurs, industry experts, influencers, and more. 
 

Program Intern - Competition

Location: Remote / Hybrid

As Program Intern, you will work with the team running the world's largest startup competition for women and technology, and support various tasks within the end-to-end execution of the program. Whether you are looking to enter the industry or an aspiring entrepreneur, this is an opportunity to be close to the action. 

Responsibilities

  • Participate in overall preparation and implementation of the She Loves Tech Global Startup Competition and other related related projects / activities

  • Support day-to-day communications between different program stakeholders (ie internal team, partners, startups, mentors, judges, speakers)

  • Coordinate logistics for the program

  • Track processes and ensure smooth implementation of the program

  • Scout promising startups to join the She Loves Tech Global Startup Competition

  • Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills in English, oral and written (fluency in other languages a plus)

  • High interpersonal and organisational abilities, strong attention to detail

  • Resourceful and able to problem-solve independently

Data Operations Intern

Location: Remote / Hybrid

As Data Operations Intern, you will work with the project team building the largest database and discovery platform of women tech founders in the world, and learn about building a tech product first-hand. 

Responsibilities

  • Clean, organise and update startup database

  • Conduct research and due diligence on startups with gender lens

  • Manage database and communication with startups

  • Scout promising startups to join She Loves Tech programs

  • Support research writing efforts

  • Other ad-hoc tasks within the scope of the project team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills in English, oral and written (fluency in other languages a plus)

  • Tech-savvy (data science / engineering and other tech knowledge a huge plus)

  • Organised and detail-oriented

  • Resourceful and able to problem-solve independently

Venture Intern

Location: Remote / Hybrid

As Venture Intern, you will support the ongoing development of She Loves Tech's investment-related initiatives as well as get first-hand experience in the startup and venture capital ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Support communications with external stakeholders like startups, funds and related partners

  • Familiarize and network with VC ecosystem and other relevant players / partners in the space

  • Scout promising startups to join She Loves Tech programs

  • Manage and track startup portfolio

  • Conduct research around startup ecosystem, market and industry trends, and events as needed

  • Aid conceptualization and implementation of investment and startup-related projects as needed

  • Support creation / writing of annual She Loves Tech market report

Preferred Qualifications

Marketing & Communications Intern (China)

Location: Remote / Hybrid (China)

As Marketing & Communications Intern, you will directly participate in public relations and marketing initiatives in China and work closely with the global team leading the She Loves Tech Global Startup Competition and Global Conference.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop content for China-based social media like wechat and weibo

  • Draft press releases and coordinate with media

  • Support implementation of events in China (ie Startup Competition)

  • Support management of wechat group

  • Coordinate with global team on shared content and cross-promotions

  • Conduct research on China startup ecosystem

  • Other ad-hoc tasks within the scope of marketing and communications in China

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills in Mandarin Chinese and English, oral and written; able to independently draft materials and documents in either language

  • Demonstrated creativity in marketing and/or communications

  • Web and social media savvy; well-versed in Chinese social media platforms

  • High interpersonal and organisational abilities, strong attention to detail

  • Computer software and graphics proficiency (Microsoft Office, GSuite, Photoshop and other graphic design tools)

Program Lead

She Loves Tech is looking for a Program Lead to anchor our flagship Global Startup Competition - world's largest startup competition and acceleration program for women and technology, currently held across 70+ countries in 6 continents. 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the growth and day-to-day operations of key program - She Loves Tech Global Startup Competition

  • See to the smooth execution of program activities, manage related stakeholders and resources, internal and external

  • Manage the entire lifecycle of the program from design to implementation; establish clear processes, timelines and budget, ensuring impact and quality

  • Proactively track program success and iterate on program design as necessary using a data driven approach

  • Build deep understanding of global startup and technology ecosystems, work closely with extended team to actively engage startup community

  • Identify strategic opportunities and develop programs to deliver against these opportunities

  • Build and nurture relations with key players across startup ecosystems worldwide, managing and negotiating strategic global partnerships

She Loves Tech is looking for a reliable Executive Assistant. You will play an important administrative role in supporting the team to work efficiently. This role involves a high level of clerical administrative work alongside research efforts. 

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage calendar to create ideal and efficient working schedule

  • Manage and respond to email enquiries

  • Coordinate times and schedule meetings

  • Ensure seamless collaboration among team members

Fullstack Software Engineer

Location: Remote / Hybrid

She Loves Tech is on the lookout for a skilled Fullstack Software Engineer to join our dynamic digital platform team. 
In this pivotal role, you'll become an integral part of a team dedicated to identifying and resolving the challenges faced by investors. Your mission will be to develop innovative solutions that align with our overarching goal of bridging the funding gap for women in technology. This position offers the unique opportunity to apply your technical expertise towards making a lasting impact in a field that combines technology, investment, and female empowerment. 
As a Fullstack Software Engineer at She Loves Tech, you will be at the forefront of driving change and innovation, leveraging your skills to create a more inclusive and equitable technological landscape. 

Responsibilities

  • Design application architecture & build production grade web, frontend and backend applications with a focus on web based javascript technologies

  • Write good quality, maintainable and scalable code

  • Build internal & external RESTful APIs and User Interfaces

  • To potentially learn and integrate with 3rd party vendor-based APIs

  • Maintain quality technical documentations for the products you are part of

  • Work with agile processes that are adapted to the team’s needs.

  • Engage in decisions ranging from UI/UX design together with the product team to application deployment with infrastructure team and exploring of new technologies to fit the context of the product.

  • Manage product stream priorities, deadlines, and deliverables within negotiated timeframes.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders and other engineers / designers to design and implement innovative solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong interest and passion for startups, entrepreneurship, venture capital and international development

  • You have minimum 3 years experience working hands-on as a software engineer in an early stage startup

  • Experience in and have completed at least 2 projects in developing web applications with frontend using ReactJS / VueJS and backend server side using NodeJS.

  • Experience with third-party Javascript libraries and UI Libraries like Mantine UI etc.

  • Experience working with both SQL & NoSQL databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL & MongoDB.

  • Experience in usage of source control such as Git and understanding of different version control strategies, especially Git Flow

  • Experience with Containerization such as Docker and/or Kubernetes.

  • Experience in using CI/CD technologies (Jenkins, Gitlab, Azure DevOps etc.) for deployment

  • Comfortable in both Linux Environments (Command Line Interface) and Cloud-Based Infrastructure (Azure Cloud, Amazon Web Services Cloud etc.) 

  • Good technical understanding of building & designing RESTful API

  • Familiar with the software development life cycle and software release management

  • Capable of translating product specifications to technical specifications and consistently write clear and concise documentation in your development cycle
